About the Item

Here is what the internet and any other source says regarding the Poul Kjaerholm PK 61 coffee table. According to the net the table was designed in 1956 and described as - a simple, low-profile square table with a thin, flat tabletop resting on a stainless steel frame. The design is elegantly understated, with the glass or marble appearing to float above the slender steel frame. We don't disagree with any of the above however over the years we have sold various pieces of Kjaerholm's work and many pieces of high end Scandinavian design so what we can tell you is that the EKC model is the only one to have. Lovers of scandinavian modern like simple clean lines and in our opinion tend to be knowledgeable about design so I'm presuming if you've read this far that you are hankering after a PK61 by EKC. Well here is a very good original piece in very nice original condition. You can tell straight away when you look closely at this table that its a good original one, it has the right patina. They are not big showy table however they are stunning and they have a presence and best of all they are simple. Simple in design and simple to ship anywhere in the world. Please take time to scroll down below and click "View All From Seller" or favorite our Shop. Reference shipping. We have lots of experience of shipping to all parts of the world. Shipping to certain places can be complex but we are confident we can ship to anywhere that has local delivery services. Our shipping charges etc have been preset here on 1stdibs and most are set to "front door" style delivery. We can and will where possible offer white glove in house delivery however this would likely need to be a bespoke solution. Bespoke shipping solutions can often take a few days to collect all the information as they often include a few parties help to cobble together and sometimes this process isn't as quick as we would like however if you want a bespoke solution on any of our items please contact us directly and we would be very happy to work with you to make shipping of any of our items as seamless as possible. Danish FK90 Coffeetable by Fabricius & Kastholm for Kill international, 1960s
By Jørgen Kastholm & Preben Fabricius, Alfred Kill International
Located in Eindhoven, Noord Brabant
This glass and flat steel table is was designed by Preben Fabricius (1931-1984) and Jørgen Kastholm (1931-2007). Together they started a design studio, Fabricius & Kastholm in 1961. These two Danish designers focussed on creating timeless functional designs that were simple and had the aesthetic of minimalism. Fabricius and Kastholm at first were creating pieces with leather, glass, or steel; they found inspiration in the sturdiness of Scandinavian designs in the sixties. In 1969, the pair was awarded the German Gute Form prize for the famous FK 87 Grasshopper Chair and the FK armchairs.
