Captivating upon first glance, this brooch features a spectacular hand-carved chalcedony flower in the centre which has been meticulously engraved, presenting a life-like naturalistic design with a 'tiered' petal design.
Furthermore, the gemstone's colour, opacity and fitness are wonderfully intricate with the carved flower being translucent and letting light through. This fine and impressive antique Edwardian Art Nouveau brooch has been crafted in 21k gold with an 18k yellow gold bar.
The bar brooch is ornamented to the centre with a hexagonal shaped 21k yellow gold feature setting embellished with a female portrait accented with a mine cut diamond to her choker, all in the iconic Art Nouveau style.
The feature setting is further ornamented with scrolling leaf decoration, in addition to a white gold set mine cut diamond to each of the six points.
The Edwardian brooch secures to an 18ct yellow gold safety pin style fastening.
The impressive antique brooch is hallmarked to the reverse of the bar with the mark for 18k gold 750, in addition to the maker's mark and has been independently tested using state of the art technology (Niton XL2 Analyzer) and verified as 21 karat gold and 18 karat gold.
This impressive 1910s brooch is supplied with an IDGL diamond grading report card.
