The silver gilt cross is embellished with five stunning collet set oval cabochon cut opals.
The central point of the cross bars is accented with four individually collet set Old Dutch cut diamonds.

This antique Victorian 15K gold demi-parure comprising pendant earrings and pendant brooch with chain is set with over 10.00 carats of cabochon almandine garnets. The elongated pendant earrings are designed as scrolling leaf motif tops, each with an oval cabochon garnet, flexibly suspending a reverse-tapering drop of floral and foliate form set with pear-shape and oval cabochon garnets, en suite with a conforming pendant brooch and delicate rectangular trace link chain. Still stylish today, the lightly voluminous, repoussé forms have an easy, gentle sway, while their soft bloomed gold and saturated red garnets enliven the eyes and face.

Queen Victoria, whom the artistic record shows owned a substantially similar demi-paure, was deeply interested in couture and jewelry. Often, she chose to wear jewelry by British makers, in many cases work that was historically inspired and/or sentimental, knowing that her choices were closely observed by the public. These jewels were often relatively modest in value, and accessible to aspiring women of the British middle class.
Blood-red cabochon-cut gems have been known throughout history as "carbuncles", and their use in gold jewelry was highly popular in the sentimental, symbolism-loving Victorian period in England. In the 19th century, the new study of of archaeology had revealed that the garnet was a favorite precious stone of the Hellenistic Greeks, who centered carbuncles in wedding jewelry such as gold bracelets and garment appliqués fashioned...

A magnificent mid-Victorian natural peal, emerald and diamond pendant, to the centre a natural pearl measuring approximately 7.7mm in diameter, surrounded by a lozenge-shaped frame set with four rectangular-cut emerald and eight old European-cut diamonds, with four outstretching diamond-set bow-like motifs, all within an outer oval border set with emerald-cut emeralds, and flanked with four smaller natural pearls each measuring approximately 4.9mm in diameter, suspending a detachable natural pearl drop with rose-cut diamond cap, the pearl measuring approximately 11.2 x 8.6mm, accompanied by certificate stating that all pearls are natural of saltwater origin, all surmounted by a diamond-set pendant loop, the diamonds estimated to weigh 1.5 carats in total, the emeralds estimated to weigh 1.5 carat in total, all mounted in yellow gold, with a fancy link chain, with original fitted case, circa 1850, the pendant measuring approximately 6 x 2.8cm, the chain measuring approximately 41 x 0.3cm, gross weight 28.6 grams

Here we have a gorgeous antique bar pin or pendant crafted from solid 14k yellow gold during the Victorian era. This beautiful antique piece features 3 pieces of NATURAL coral - 1 of which is GIA certified - which are intricately carved into roses. The center coral is much larger than the side stones but each one is magnificently detailed. The frame holding the corals has both a pin backing and a hinged bail and can be worn as either a bar pin or a pendant. No chain is included with this piece.
