The figure holds a brass instrument (probably a cornet or a trumpet), as if playing a tune. Underneath the base can be seen the stamp of the Goebel Company prior to 1923. German porcelain manufacturers like Goebel were known for their high quality porcelain with delicate modeling and hand-painting.
