Marco Cingolani was born in Como in 1961 and moved to Milan at a very young age, in 1978. He began to frequent the underground creative environment, where art was mixed with fashion and punk music. In those years a new artistic sensibility was being formalized in Milan, whose roots no longer sank in the history of art and in the citation but practiced the critical manipulation of reality and its communication through the mass media. The image was taken out of context, subtracted from the use of common sense, radically distorted, almost mocked. The work of Marco Cingolani, from the beginning, has always tried to cancel the regulatory power of media images, subjecting them to the radical care of the artist, certain that art offers a decisive point of view for the interpretation of the world. In this context the interviews of the Interviews were born, where celebrities for their privacy were submerged by the microphones and the famous series dedicated to the attack on the Pope and to the tragic story of Aldo Moro. After having participated in numerous group exhibitions including An emerging scene (1991, Museo Pecci, Prato) and Two or three things that I know of them (1998, PAC, Milan), he is dedicated to major anthological exhibitions at prestigious public institutions such as Palazzo Strozzi in Florence and Promoter of Fine Arts in Turin. In November 2006 he took part in the collective exhibition "Senza famiglia", in the Palace of the Promoter of Fine Arts in Turin. In 2007 Cingolani received a further consecration: the Galleria Emilio Mazzoli hosts the exhibition entitled "What color are they?" in which the pictorial reflections on the color of Power and its disguises are presented. The art of Cingolani has always been fascinated by the passage from news to history and vice versa; also in this case the UN blue helmets, the red urn containing the electoral ballots, the multicolored segments of the Wall Street charts, the military uniforms and the party flags are contextualized in highly symbolic scenarios. In 2009 a return to the origins for Marco Cingolani, often the author of works expressly inspired by the religious theme. In particular, for this exhibition entitled " Percorsi della Fede", the artist focused his attention on the Marian apparitions that have marked the last two centuries: Lourdes and Fatima . In the same year an exhibition in Lucca at the National Museum of Villa Guinigi, joins him to some of the leading Italian artists of the last two generations; by the universally recognized and celebrated masters, present in the main international museums such as Mimmo Paladino, Sandro Chia, Salvo, passing through some of the protagonists of the 52nd Venice Biennale as Gian Marco Montesano, Daniele Galliano, Nicola Bolla, Bertozzi & Casoni who exhibited in 2009 in contemporary at the Lucca exhibition and at the Italian Pavilion of the Venetian event, to get to the young artists of the last generation already present in important national and international artistic events. Giacinto di Pietrantonio invites him the following year, 2010 to PAC, Pavilion of contemporary art in Milan, for the collective exhibition "Hybrid", alongside Jan Fabre, Gilbert & George, Charles Avery, Damien Hirst, Piotr Uklanski, Patrick Tuttofuoco and other great ones on the international scene. 2012 is the year of "Il Belpaese dell'arte", at Gamec di Bergamo, always curated by Pietrantonio and Maria Cristina Rodeschini, in the company of Elmgreen...

The painting I was drawn to make was a hybrid of both painting and sculpture. My first one man show in New York were abstract paintings covered in sand. My second one may show in New York were paintings on chalkboards with texts. I’ve had one man shows in Zurich, Tokyo, and Istanbul. Afterward, I felt stuck; an artist’s block had come over me. I turned my attention to raising my daughter and focusing on her becoming an artist. Julia Adolphe is now a successful contemporary classical composer...

Loren Munk (American, b. 1951), mixed media painting "Romulus & Remus", signed "Munk '89", 13" x 19" inches sheet, framed 20.25" x 26" inches. In Roman mythology, Romulus and Remus are twin brothers whose story tells the events that led to the founding of the city of Rome and the Roman Kingdom by Romulus. The killing of Remus by his brother, and other tales from their story, have inspired artists throughout the ages. Since ancient times, the image of the twins being suckled by a she-wolf (dog) has been a symbol of the city of Rome and the ancient Romans. The artist Loren Munk (born 1951) is primarily known for his YouTube nickname James Kalm as an uploader of videos about New York exhibitions, amongst others. He presents himself as a maker of contemporary paintings for several decades and of cubist paintings of urban imagery. Munk has received accolades for his drawings and mosaics. Large Abstract Expressionist Taiwanese Painting Chihung Yang Chinese Art
Located in Surfside, FL
Chihung Yang American (b. 1947) Untitled (Black and Brown Composition) (1986) Mixed media (acrylic, pastel) on paper Hand signed lower right Sheet 38 x 50 inches, frame dimensions: 45 x 57 x 2 inches, wood frame with glazing Provenance:= From a Corporate Art Collection Yang Chihung (Chinese: 楊識宏; pinyin: Yang Chihung; born 1947) Taiwanese-American artist. Yang Chi-hung was born on 25 October 1947, in Chungli, Taiwan. He developed an interest in art in early childhood, and found inspirations to pursue an artist career after reading Lust for Life – The Life of Vincent van Gogh, translated by poet Yu Kuang-chung, in junior high school. Between 1965 and 1968, he attended the National Taiwan College of Art, developing a sound foundation in oil painting under the tutelage of famous Taiwanese artists of the Japanese Colonial period, such as Liao Chi-chun, Li Mei-shu and Yang San-lang. Meanwhile, he actively attended events organized by the modern art groups of Taiwan, namely the Fifth Moon Group and Ton Fan Group, only to find himself both intimidated and dissatisfied with the then relatively conservative art environment in Taiwan. In 1979, he emigrated to the United States of America with his wife, Jane, and their son, Daniel. His pioneering works soon landed him the “Outstanding Asian-American Artist” award. The concept and style of abstract expressionism as represented by the works of Jackson Pollock in the 1950s had great impact on Yang’s work. With the sense of nihilism that gave rise to abstract expressionism in the post-war period, artists no longer clamored to depict the external environment, but rather chose to focus on their own inner experience. Yang Chihung embraced this spirit about the early 1990s when his style turned abstract. In 1984–85 and again in 1985–86, he was twice awarded a year's residency at The Clocktower Studio in New York City by MoMA P.S.1. In 2013, Yang, along with Xu Bing, Zhang Huan, and Li Chen, were the four artists featured in the Discovery Channel Asia documentary series, Chineseness, a multi-series production that focused on postwar Chinese contemporary artists. He is of the generation of artists such as Chen Tingshi, Liang Yifeng, Yang Yuyu, Pang Jiun, Yinhui Chen, Jui-Ling Hung, De-Jinn Shiy, Yong-ik Cho, Wan Chuan Chang, Kuosung Liu, Sanlang Yang, Chetsai Shen, Fu-sheng Ku, Chunxiang Zhao, Ming Ju, Ming-Che Huang, Jiutong Liu, In-Ting Ran, George Chann, Yi Hong, Tzu-Chi Yeh, Max Liu, Yi-Hsiung Chang, Che Chuang Awards and recognition 1989, Outstanding Asian American Artist Award, by Governor of New York 1984–1986, MoMA P.S.1 National Studio Program, Residency at Clocktower Studio, New York SELECTED GROUP EXHIBITIONS 1969 Contemporary Young Artists Exhibition, U. Born in 1958. At his first personal exhibition (greeted by "Le Matin"), he is still a high school student. At the workshops of the Ecole des Beaux-Arts in Paris, he prefers the personal research on the questioning of the paint of the painting that he does not hesitate to exhibit in the Salons (Big and Young, May, etc. ...) and which is split up with a mystic and barbarous vision applied to the installation, at Land-art. In 1983, on his first visit to the USA, discovers the Hopi in the heart of the "American Dream". Violence of the figure. He then weaves in New York, Toulouse, Brussels, Paris the conjunction installation-drawing over many galleries. In 1988, he entered the Galerie Krif (Paris) and immersed himself in the myth of Moby Dick. Many exhibitions (Brussels, Tarbes, Lyon, Rennes) while teaching at the School of Fine Arts in Bourges. Abstract Expressionist Color Field Painting Indian Artist Sangeeta Reddy
Located in Surfside, FL
image is 21 X 21 inches; frame: 30 X 30 inches Born in 1955, Hyderabad, India, painter and writer Sangeeta Reddy migrated to the United States in 1978 and continued her studies in art. Currently she maintains a studio on Santa Fe Dr. in Denver, Colorado and Hyderabad, India, dividing her time between the two. She has been represented by various galleries in Aspen, Denver, New York, New Delhi, Chennai and now, Hyderabad since the beginning of her 26 year career. Sangeeta has lived and breathed the arts from a very young age – her maternal grandmother was a contemporary of the classical vocalist Kesarbai Kerkar, her grandfather a connoisseur of the arts. Steeped in music, her mother was one of the first disciples of the late Pandit Ravi Shankar. Her late father was a pictorial photographer who co-founded the Hyderabad Photographic Society. Sangeeta chose to follow her own path into the visual and literary arts. With seven years of undergraduate work in fine art in India and the US, and a bachelor’s from Bombay University in English literature and Philosophy, in 1985, Sangeeta’s work has developed into a highly individual style of mixed media abstract expressionistic paintings and monotypes on both canvas and paper. The deconstructed calligraphy and vibrant and nuanced color ever present in her work gives the work the flavor of India in concert with a western restraint. Known primarily for her mixed media collages on paper and canvas, her abstract work was conceived from a challenge to visually parallel Sankara’s idea of Brahman in Advait philosophy and has now evolved into a formal language of deconstructed Devanagari calligraphy. Her artistic influences range widely from Indian weaving and textiles to Vincent Van Gogh, Paul Cezanne and Pablo Picasso (who were introduced to her at a very young age by her father’s interest in Western art), to her discovery (while studying in the US) of the Taos School of landscape painters as well as the Abstract expressionist painters, painters, in particular, Mark Rothko and Willem De Kooning, Robert Motherwell, Antoni Tapies and Richard Diebenkorn. After having worked for 28 years in an abstract expressionist manner, her latest series of paintings are based on the rock formations of the Colorado Plateau. She was first Inspired By Abstract Expressionists like Barnett Newman, Mark Rothko, Clyfford Still, Ray Parker, her style evolved into abstract expressionism and color field painting, Since moving to the US she has become familiar with some of the artistic giants – Georgia O’keeffe, Maynard Dixon, Ernest Blumenschein, Victor Higgins and John Marin, much later of the Group of Seven and of Regionalism. The mountains and plains, canyons and stretches of sky, pinion, sage and cottonwoods. Mostly they were in the form of small plein air works in pastel, charcoal or water color, or drawings from memory or photographs that were more reductive and expressionistic. She has also worked in monotype techniques and in collage. Large Abstract Expressionist Figure Handmade Paper Etching Silkscreen Print
By Sam Messer
Located in Surfside, FL
This is done on a very interesting handmade paper (Japanese?) it is hand signed and numbered. In this print the artist Sam Messer uses bold contrasting colors in a gestural manner. Messer's work, so apparently spontaneous or impulsive in its emphasis on highly dramatic gestural brushstrokes and intense color, is, in fact, carefully considered. The treatment of the composition conveys dynamic movement through the sweep...
