Bull A/P
Located in Napa, CA
Bronze, Artist Proof. Sharon Loper creates transitory sculptures out of bronze, stone, and wood and views her work as landscapes of thought based on organic principles. As a classically educated, third-generation Rodin sculptor, Loper’s work is elongated and expressive. She seeks to sculpt an emotional experience rather than a physical reality. An award-winning sculptor, photographer, and printmaker, Sharon Loper developed her sculptural practice through two decades of study, both at the Otis Art Institute in Los Angeles and in private studio practice. At Otis, she worked with and learned from artists such as Charles White, Joseph Mugnaini...

"Reclining Woman" Karl Bitter, Reclining Woman with Reddish Patina
Located in New York, NY
Karl Bitter Reclining Woman, 1897 Signed: Bitter 97 Stamped: GORHAM M F G CO. Bronze 10.25 x 10.25 x 4 inches Initially from Vienna, Karl Bitter first studied art at the city’s Kunstgewerbeschule and the Kunstakademie before being drafted into the Austrian army. He deserted his position in the military while on leave, and departed for New York City where he would discover considerable success. Early on, he won a competition for the Astor memorial bronze gates at Trinity Church, which awarded him enough capital to open his own studio. He went on to execute sculptures of Alexander Hamilton and Thomas Jefferson at the Cuyahoga Courthouse in Cleveland; he also created portraits of Jefferson for the state of Missouri and the University of Virginia. These commissions caught the attention of sculptor Richard Morris Hunt (who famously designed the façade of the Metropolitan Museum), earning Bitter the duty of producing the portrait medallions that now appear near the top of the museum’s grand face. Notably, he presented at Chicago’s 1893 World’s Columbian Exposition and directed the Pan-American Exposition in Buffalo in 1901. Over his career, his artwork became more flexible – his early academy training is easily identifiable within his work, but after moving to America, conventions of Modernism became more prevalent within his sculpture. In addition to many awards, Bitter presided over the National Sculpture Society in 1906-1907, and was a member of the National Institute of Arts and Sciences, the National Academy of Design, the American Academy of Arts and Letters, the Architectural League, and the Art Commission, New York. His public work can be found at the Biltmore Estate, Asheville, NC; Gettysburg National Military Park, Gettysburg, PA; Wisconsin State Capitol, Madison, WI; United States Naval Academy...

Located in Loveland, CO
"In the Land of Ermine" by Fritz White 13" x 6" x 5" signed and numbered Bronze 29/50 This particular casting is available on the secondary market from an original purchaser. It is in excellent condition. Fritz White was best known throughout the world for his distinctive style of bronze sculpture, and for being a key player in turning Loveland into the well-known sculpture community it is today. He was born January 14, 1930 in Milford, Ohio to Denver and Geneva (Hatfield) White. By the time he was 12, his father had enrolled him in an adult art class in a college in Cincinnati. "The war was going on and those small colleges needed all the students they could get, so they agreed to take me. I got a lot of special attention from the teachers. It was great," he recalled. After graduating from Terrace Park...

Frankenstein
Located in New Orleans, LA
"Trans Youth - Body of a boy/girl, mind of a monster, soul of an unearthly thing. Prejudice against transgender people is widespread." KAT FLYN is a self-taught assemblage artist working presently out of San Diego. She began her career as a costume designer in Southern California. Over the years she amassed a trove of artifacts and collectables which she began using to create assemblage art in the 1990’s. In 2000 she sold her business and moved to Cuyamaca, a remote community in the mountains outside of San Diego to devote herself exclusively to her artwork. In 2003 her work was interrupted when the Cedar Fire swept through San Diego county and destroyed the forest, her home & studio along with almost all of her collections and works of art. Following the fire she relocated to San Francisco, where she spent a decade concentrating on her art in her studio in SOMA and exhibiting at galleries in the Bay Area. In 2015 she returned to San Diego and now works out of her studio in La Jolla, exhibiting there and in Los Angeles. Kat Flyn refers to herself as an Assemblage Sculptor and her works as Political Art or Protest Art. She separates herself from other assemblage artists in that she only employs “saved” as opposed to “found” objects in her work; and her pieces always have a political or cultural narrative to them rather than being surreal or abstract. She also constructs or refashions many of the pieces which she uses in her art, for example she turns a soft drink box...

Ram's Head Contemporary Plaster Sculpture with Green Patina Ancient Rome Style
Located in Firenze, IT
This contemporary plaster sculpture of a ram’s head is inspired by the art of Ancient Rome and Ancient Greece with a reference to Neoclassicism and Neoclassical period old masters, when the discoveries of archaeological sites became the focal point in art history between the 18th and 19th century. The artist is able to attribute incredible details to this work of art featuring a majestic appearance due to its large curling ridged horns. This animal figurative work of art is sculpted on the round, the artist took inspiration both from his imagination and archaic reminiscences. He modeled the inert chalk creating an animal with very real facial expression and incredible realistic features with intricate detailed head. This sculpture is the plaster cast hand modeled by the artist that served him as a reference model to create a bronze sculpture with the lost wax technique, also the bronze version is on sale on my page. So it represents the first phase of a fascinating and long process of creating sculptural art, a studio piece made as a maquette before a bronze version was cast. The present aries' head sculpture has been painted to simulate the green patina that archaeological metal sculptures take over the centuries. Two green patina sculptures...

Loreley
Located in Atlanta, GA
In life, every time you do or make something you have the opportunity to make something creative and original. Take something, add to it and pass it on; that’s the creative process. The world around us is an infinite source of inspiration. My art is influenced by a combination of the styles of the Symbolist, the Surrealist, and the contemporary Realist and is the result of a compulsive motivation to make things. After several years serving in the U.S. Navy and several fits and starts with college, David graduated from Georgia State University in 1977 with a BFA concentration in sculpture. Since then he has continued to produce art in a variety of mediums including sculpture, painting, furniture, ceramics and drawing. Craftsmanship is a motivational force in all his work. Group shows David has participated in include: GA ARTISTS juried exhibit, Abernathy Arts Center May 201 1 National Juried Show, SAAG Blue Ridge GA. 201 1 , 2015 National Juried Show, SAAG Blue Ridge GA. 2010 Honorable Mention award “Simply Drawn”, Juried show Roswell Arts Center, 2010 STARBRUST; Sandy Springs, GA Best of Show, 2009 Blue Moon Brewing Co. art project, 1st place, 2008 S.
