For more than seven decades, the Italian jewelry company Veschetti has been synonymous with lavish elegance. From opulent handcrafted pendants to dazzling gem-laden drop earrings, each unique item is the result of a combination of careful analysis, expert skill and artistic detail.
Established in 1949 by Mario Veschetti, it was founded on the principles of Italian craftsmanship and enthusiasm for creating captivating jewelry. Veschetti applied his grit and passion for his trade to his work and his jewelry soon gained recognition throughout Italy and worldwide.
Veschetti’s son and daughter — Marco and Laura — now run the company with the same devotion to creating peerless upscale jewelry, including ornate rings, necklaces and earrings. The elder Veschetti taught his children an appreciation for artistry and the techniques of jewelry making. Drawing on these skills — along with inspiration from luxury names like Cartier and Van Cleef & Arpels — the duo approaches jewelry as both a craft and an art.
Through their leadership, the company has increased its international clientele. Veschetti is now popular with collectors in the Middle East, the United States and across Asia. Veschetti continues to produce its sophisticated fine jewelry in Italy.

A Close Look at contemporary Jewelry
Contemporary jewelry is inextricably linked with the moment in which it is created, frequently reflecting current social, cultural and political issues such as environmental consciousness, identity and sustainability. It’s informed by fashion trends, from the chokers of the 1990s to the large chain necklaces of the early 2000s.
Jewelry is one of the oldest forms of adornment. Lockets made of silver or gold have been treasured gifts for hundreds of years, for example, and charm bracelets, which have existed since prehistoric times, didn’t become especially popular until the 19th-century reign of Queen Victoria. Instead, it was the jeweler’s artistic vision that was prized and elevated.
This shift still informs Contemporary jewelry being made by artists today. Whether they are using cheap, found materials and working with provocative geometric shapes or seeking out the rarest stones, they are imbuing their work with meaning through their skills, techniques and ideas. Innovative designers such as Elsa Peretti, who popularized sculptural sterling-silver jewelry for Tiffany & Co., and David Yurman, who twisted metal into the simple yet striking Cable bracelet, have also influenced the direction of Contemporary jewelry’s forms and aesthetics.
