Steve Godfrey was born in Halifax, England in 1962. Currently living in southern Spain, he paints full time. He lives with his wife and their son.
“I love the whole process of creating a painting from the initial sketches and ideas, to the flow and texture of the oil paint," says Godfrey. "I have a great passion for color and find the excitement of beauty and light addictive. Since turning to a full-time artist in 2004, my work has taken on a whole new vitality. I paint the colors and forms that I see and feel, perhaps emphasizing some and softening others to create a dramatic effect. I like my work to be recognizable with an added element of drama.”
