Bvlgari London 1985 Magnum Champagne Bottle Coaster .925 Sterling Silver & Wood

About the Item

Coaster for magnum champagne bottle designed by Bvlgari. An ultimate luxury item created in England by the house of Bvlgari. This champagne magnum bottle coaster was made in London at the silversmith atelier of Sotirio Bvlgari, back in the 1985. Carefully crafted in solid .925/.999 sterling silver, with high polished finish. Mounted with a carved piece of wood and felt pad in the bottom. Weight: 218.70 Grams (140.19 Dwt). Measurements: The diameter is 133.35 mm and the height is 41 mm (5.25 x 1.61 Inches). Hallmarks: Stamped with British marks; the lion's head for the city of London, the silversmith maker's mark SB associated to Sotirio Bvlgari, the mark for the assay of the silver, the letter L for the date of production and assay 1985 and signed, "BVLGARI STERLING ENGLAND". Note: The jewelry maker's mark SB, was assigned to Bulgari Ltd in London in association to Sotirio Bulgari, and was in use between the 1968 and 2000. They fabricate silverware for the British market, such; ash trays, bowls, boxes, candlesticks, chambersticks, dices, place card holders and stirrup cups. Bvlgari The company was founded in the late 19th century by Sotirio Bulgari, who was born in 1857 in Greece and was descended from a talented family of silversmiths. In 1884 he opened his first shop in Rome on the Via Sistina, and then in 1905 he moved to the actual flag's store in Via dei Condotti. Upon Sotirio’s death in 1932 his sons, Giorgio and Costantino, took over the business. They are credited with creating the highly distinctive ‘Bvlgari’ style, inspired by Greek and Roman classicism revival, the Italian Renaissance, and the 19th century Roman school of goldsmiths. The 1970s marked the beginning of Bulgari’s international expansion with the opening of stores in New York (the first overseas), Paris, Geneva and Monte Carlo. Collateral: It is accompanied by a presentation jewelry pouch. Condition: The overall condition of this piece is excellent. Beside the little normal wear, there is no damage to the silver.     A display round tray designed by Tiffany & Co. Beautiful antique three footed round display tray, created in New York city for Tiffany & Co. between the 1858-1859. This tray certainly is one of the first pieces made at the 550 Broadway avenue in solid .925/1000 sterling silver. It was made up with American classic patterns and mount in three elaborated legs.
