About the Item

This is a beautiful high-back Senator easy chair by Ole Wanscher, featuring the original Epeda-system springs inside the cushions. This spring system, also used in Wegner's GE290 sofas and lounge chairs, provides excellent comfort, unlike the cold foam cushions often used in reupholstery today. The foam cushions, while common now, reduce both the comfort and the classic look of the chair. The chair is designed with curved armrests and rounded edges throughout the frame. The shape of the cushions is important to maintain a square, firm appearance that complements the chair's design. Cushions are like new. A photo of the color will be uploaded soon Part of the 166 series by CADO, this model was originally produced by P. Jeppesen and later by CADO under Poul Cadovius in the mid-1960s. The chair was first designed in 1951, and this particular piece is likely from around 1965-1969.
