About the Item

This is for a rare model 574/2 dining table designed by Ico Parisi and manufactured by Figli di Amedeo Cassina, Italy 1959. This rare dining table was part from a series designed by Parisi for Cassina at the end of the 1950s. The production started in the early 60s. This is for a nice and minimalistic shaped dining table in rosewood, it has a brown velvet covered top with its original glass. The velvet underneath the glass gives the table an extra dimension which looks very special and stylish. Parisi was one of the most talented designers from Italy and as you can see in this table, the construction of this piece is beautiful. He made the necessary construction to make the table stable, a part of the aesthetics creating beautiful lines with them. The angled support between the legs, the cut off corners with the cut-out legs integrated in the hole, it’s a constructional masterpiece. The rosewood has a very nice original tone and beautiful grain to it which makes the table unique. As the table is in very good original condition, small signs of user wear can be found but nothing mention worthy, it preserves a beautiful patina all over that matches the age of the table. There is still a part of the Cassina label at the underside of the table, visible on the pictures. The table can use up to 6-8 chairs for dining depending on their size, chairs on the pictures are not included in this listing but available separately. A unique opportunity to obtain this truly beautiful and rare piece for any Italian modern design lover.

Ico Parisi Olimpino Table by Cassina
By Cassina, Ico Parisi

Table designed by Ico Parisi in 1955, relaunched in 2020. Manufactured by Cassina in Italy. Designed in 1955, the design of this table – a piece of furniture considered by Ico Parisi to be a central element in the home - accompanies the Maestro’s career and evolves with different materials. The Olimpino table has a slender, bold and recognisable square section tubular metal frame made of two pairs of "Y" shaped uprights, whose upper inner arms converge to join under the top, while the outer arms diverge to block the rectangular plate of the top, in monolithic tempered glass, with a brass side stopper. The legs, thus paired, are strengthened with a double crossbar, also in metal, which opens near the sides and forms a double "V" shape. The solid wood arrow...
