About the Item

Arne Jacobsen & Jørgen Wolff Møbelsnedkeri, Scandinavian Modern A truly remarkable piece of design and history, a unique desk by architect and designer Arne Jacobsen and executed by master cabinetmaker Jørgen Wolff Møbelsnedkeri, 1961. The desk is custom made in wengé, wengé veneer and chromium-plated steel, very similar to the modern materials chosen for the iconic SAS Hotel in Copenhagen, designed and furnished by Arne Jacobsen in 1960. Reverse of drawer with cabinetmaker's paper label Jørgen Wolff Møbelsnedkeri and dated Nov 1961. The desk is acquired from one of the original Atrium house by Bellevue, designed by Arne Jacobsen. The desk was from no. 415B, the late estate of Adda Leerbach and Erling Olsen (former Minister of Housing). The desk was part of the interior that had practically been left as it originally had been designed for more than 50 years prior. Excellent vintage condition and a collector's item.
