Emerald on Calcite From Colombia
Located in New York, NY
This specimen features a strikingly vivid Colombian Emerald crystal rising vertically from its contrasting white Calcite host. The elongated prism glows with saturated green color and gemmy translucency, its lustrous faces catching light from every angle. Weighing 8.55 grams and standing 1.5 inches tall, this piece exemplifies the qualities that have made Colombian Emeralds among the most coveted gemstones in the world. The crisp geometry and balance of this composition enhance its visual presence, while the natural contrast between crystal and matrix underscores the combination specimen's rarity and elegance. Mounted on a custom lucite base measuring 1.5 inches square and just over half an inch high, this Emerald on Calcite is display-ready and ideal for the discerning collector. Exclusive Amethyst Geode Portal with a Rare Crown Druzy Formation, Super Rare
Located in Ametista Do Sul, BR
Large Amethyst Geode Portal with a Rare Crown Formation of Sparkly, Deep Purple Amethyst on Custom-Made Rotating Stand ▫️ Description A rare, stunning Amethyst Geode Portal, this natural masterpiece brings world-class aesthetics with its large, sparkly purple druzy, formed in an array that resembles a sparkling crown. Amethyst specimens with this crown formation are sourced exclusively from a single mine in Ametista do Sul, making it a truly rare addition that brings beauty and natural elegance to any collection or interior space. The geode's rim, outlined by the agate matrix, emphasizes the rich Amethyst center, drawing the eye to the portal. The all-natural green basalt, present as part of the geode's formation, adds balance and harmony to its colors, enhancing its stunning aesthetics. The druzy of this specimen is of world-class quality, featuring points that reveal a vibrant purple tone, embodying tranquility and spiritual depth. These Amethyst points are complemented by naturally polished facets with a mirror-like shine, reflecting the light and creating a display that mesmerizes the viewer. With both sides being gorgeous, we chose to display it on a 360-degree rotating stand so you can fully observe this natural masterpiece. This Amethyst portal is not only a natural geological formation; it is a work of natural art. Pair of White Majolica Ceramic Doves, Italy 1960s
Located in Clifton Springs, NY
The vintage porcelain or ceramic dove figurines feature finely detailed bodies, artfully hand painted with light green accents on bright white majolica glaze, creating a reserved, natural color palette of white and tone-on-tone green. The birds are realistically sculpted with wide, flowing tails, standing calmly with their heads slightly turned. They are not mirror images of each other; each presents subtle differences in posture, adding visual interest and another layer of complexity to the set. Highly detailed figurines convey a touch of historical elegance and whimsical charm of traditional Italian country style. Each sculpture is marked with ITALY and model numbers on the inner surfaces. While many Italian artists and studios created their version of dove figurine, most of them are stylistically different from this pair; Bitossi and Zaccagnini birds have more streamlined, Modernist silhouettes, and the doves created for Raymor were less detailed and intentionally less realistic, as well as most often marked with distributor name in writing. We're attributing the pair to Mottahedeh, who sourced Italian majolica in similar style; the pieces will be simply marked ITALY and Mottahedeh will add their paper stickers. As the sculptures are quite old, the stickers often get lost or destroyed. The convenient size and small footprint allows the set to be used in a multiple ways, such as dining room centerpiece, console table accent, shelf or fireplace mantel decoration...

Antique, New and Vintage Sculptures

Styling your home with vintage, new and antique sculptures means adding a touch that can meaningfully transform the space. By introducing a sculptural work as a decorative finish to any interior, you’re making a statement, whether you tend toward the dramatic or prefer to keep things casual with modest, understated art.

A single, one-of-a-kind three-dimensional figurative sculpture mounted on your dining room wall is a guaranteed conversation piece, while a trio of abstract works arranged on your living room bookshelves can add spontaneity to the collection of first-edition novels or artist monographs you’re displaying as well as draw attention to them. Figurative sculptures are representational works that portray a specific person, animal or object. And while decorating with busts, which are sculpted or cast figurative works, hasn’t exactly topped the list of design trends every year, busts are back. According to designer Timothy Corrigan, “They give humanity in a way that a more abstract sculpture can’t give.” Abstract sculptures, on the other hand, are not meant to show something specific. Instead, they invoke a mood or scene without directly stating what they are portraying.

Busts made of stone or metal may not seem like a good fit for your existing decor. Fortunately, there are many ways for a seemingly incongruous piece to fit in with the rest of your room’s theme. You can embrace a dramatic piece by making it the focal point of the room, or you can choose to incorporate several elements made out of the same material to create harmony in your space. If an antique or more dramatic piece doesn’t feel like you, why not opt for works comprising plastic, fiberglass or other more modern materials?

When incorporating sculpture into the design of your home — be it the playful work of auction hero and multimedia visionary KAWS, contemporary fiber art from Connecticut dealer browngrotta arts or still-life sculpture on a budget — consider proper lighting, which can bring out the distinctive aspects of your piece that deserve attention. And make sure you know how the size and form of the sculpture will affect your space in whole. If you choose a sculpture with dramatic design elements, such as sharp angles or bright colors, for example, try to better integrate this new addition by echoing those elements in the rest of your room’s design.

Get started on decorating with sculpture now — find figurative sculptures, animal sculptures and more on 1stDibs today.
