Striking and Textured Monumental Vase by Nils Kähler

About

Monumental vase designed and turned by Nils Kähler (1906-1979), with pumpkin shape body and long widening neck, in earthenware, partially glazed brown, partially unglazed, Kähler, Denmark Mid-20th century. Incised mark “HAK” and signature “Nils”." Clay body used has a handsome "dry" sense of texture, and the combination of a strong form and graphic contrast in glazing would make this a great focal point for a Hamptons or Aspen interior.
