The ‘Entente Cordiale Cup’ was the prize at the club’s race meeting at Burnham on Crouch in August 1905 in honour of a visit from the French Navy. Lionel and John had great success in the new Napier II and Achillée millefeuille Napier motor boats. The Napier II was fitted with the largest six-cylinder engine ever built by Selwyn Edge. In 1905 the pair won a 35 mile race across the Arcachon basin, France, in a time of 2 hours, 2 minutes, 26 seconds. The following year they broke Dorothy Levitt’s world water speed record at 28.8 knots and in 1907 won the prestigious ‘Perla del Mediterraneo’ on Lionel’s boat, the ‘Flying Fish’. Excellently manufactured nicest bowl made of massive silver, with two handles ( = highest manufacturing quality !) : The bowl can be used as cooler for white wine or champagne where ice cubes have to be put into or it has the function of a red wine bottle's holder (look at the picture, please !) .
The elegant silver bowl's surface is decorated with lines, further with leaves, flower's blossoms as well as with floral ornaments of stylized type: The manufacturing technique is that of chiselled / chasing work.

This exceptional, fine and impressive silver wine and drinks set consists of six liqueur glasses and drinks tray.
The Victorian silver liqueur glass each retain the original plain cylindrical clear glass body, with a detachable silver mount to the lower portion.
The silver holder of each drinking vessel is embellished with embossed decoration depicting rural scenes incorporating figures gifting flowers and tending to sheep.
Each scene is encompassed with impressive scrolling designs, creating an undulating shaped rim to the upper portion.
The silver tray has a rectangular form with rounded corners; the surface of the tray is plain and unembellished.
The rim of the tray is encompassed with an impressive applied gadroon decorated border accented with scrolling leaf designs to the corners.
Either end of the tray features an impressive cast silver handle ornamented with reed decoration and an enveloping leaf design to the handpiece.
This exceptional set is fitted to the original and desirable hinged leatherette presentation box with satin and velvet lined interior.
The impressive double hinged cover of the box secures with a hinge catch, and the interior of each retains the retailer's mark 'Aitchison, To Her Majesty the Queen, Court Jewellers, 80 Princes St Edinburgh'.

The Schofield Company (1903–1977) (aka Herr-Schofield, aka the Baltimore Silversmiths Manufacturing Company) was a Baltimore area silver company, whose best known pattern was Baltimore Rose.
