Dunhill Carlton Ware Spider Web Table Lighter
Located in Northampton, GB
Alfred Dunhill Lighter Circa 1957 From our Accessories collection, we are delighted to offer this Dunhill ‘Carlton’ Spider Web Table Lighter. The Lighter Gold Plated lighter was produced in partnership with Carlton Ware with the ceramic body produced by Stoke on Trent potters Carlton (Carlton Ware). The body has been hand painted with a spider web design amongst blossoming flowers and two dragonflies. The Lighter is embossed to the front Dunhill and bears the registration number to the inside of the pivoting arm 737418. The base of the lighter is stamped Dunhill, Lighter. The Lighter dates to the middle of the 20th century circa 1957. Carlton Ware was established in 1890 by James Frederick Wiltshaw, William Herbert Robinson and James Alcock Robinson trading under the name of Wiltshaw and Robinson. The trademark “Carlton Ware” was introduced in 1894, and the company’s factory was renamed the Carlton Works. The company changed its name multiple times and changed hands finally reaching the name ‘Carlton Ware Ltd’ in 1958. In 1966 the company was sold to Arthur Wood and Sons before coming under financial pressure in the late 1980s being forced into receivership in 1989 and production ending in 1992. In 1997 the Carlton Ware brand was resurrected by Francis Joseph of the Carlton Ware Design Centre, Roslyn Works, Stoke-on-Trent. It continues to manufacture novelty items aimed at the collectors’ market today. Dunhill Lighters specifically the classic petrol lift arm table lighter was introduced by Dunhill in 1928 running until the introduction of gas in the 1960’s. This particular Carlton Wear example was first introduced in the Dunhill catalogue in 1957. The body was created in partnership with Stoke-on-Trent potters Carlton Ware. Carlton Ware produced three different examples to compliment the Dunhill body a fish underwater design, a chinoiserie pagoda design and the spider web as seen here. Dunhill Alfred Dunhill was Born September 30th 1872. From 1890 Dunhill ran a company that sold motoring accessories through mail order under the name Dunhill’s Motorities. In 1902 he opened a shop on Conduit Street, Mayfair which sold clothing...

"Oblique Strategies" by Brian Eno & Peter Schmidt - Peter Norton Christmas Gift
Located in Soquel, CA
"Oblique Strategies" by Brian Eno & Peter Schmidt - Peter Norton Christmas Gift This piece is from a series of Christmas gifts, given yearly by Peter Norton and his family. This one is from 1996. The white container is Corian, with a solid weight and feel. Within, there are bright and whimsical cards, each congaing a strategy or inspiration for thinking creatively. In 1970, Peter Schmidt created "The Thoughts Behind the Thoughts", a box containing 55 sentences letterpress printed onto disused prints that accumulated in his studio, which is still in Eno's possession. Eno, who had known Schmidt since the late 1960s, had been pursuing a similar project himself, which he had handwritten onto a number of bamboo cards and given the name "Oblique Strategies" in 1974. There was a significant overlap between the two projects, and so, in late 1974, Schmidt and Eno combined them into a single pack of cards and offered them for general sale. The set went through three limited edition printings before Schmidt suddenly died in early 1980. Sixteen years later software pioneer Peter Norton convinced Eno to let him create a fourth edition as Christmas gifts for his friends. Overall size: 6.25"W x 5"D x 2"H Card sizes: 3"H x 4.13"W Peter Norton (b. 1943) is an American programmer, software publisher, author, and philanthropist. He is best known for the computer programs and books that bear his name and portrait. Norton established his family foundation with his former wife Eileen Norton in 1989. The foundation’s primary focus is on supporting contemporary visual arts nationwide. For more than two decades, the Peter Norton Family commissioned annual limited edition artworks to give to friends, colleagues, and museums during the holidays. The “Christmas Projects” evolved from modest prints created in small runs to complexly fabricated objects and editions up to 5,000—with all those gift labels reportedly printed personally by Peter Norton. Each year’s artwork was always a surprise, as was the recipient list. Brian Peter George Eno (b. 1948) is an English musician, songwriter, record producer and visual artist. He is best known for his pioneering contributions to ambient music and electronica, and for producing, recording, and writing works in rock and pop music. Peter Schmidt (1931 - 1980) was a Berlin-born British artist, painter, theoretician of color and composition, pioneering multimedia exhibitor and an influential teacher at Watford College of Art. He was part of a generation of art school teachers in the 1960s and 1970s who had great impact on some students who later went on to work in art and music. He worked with Hansjörg Mayer, Brian Eno, Mark Boyle, Dieter Roth and had associations with Russell Mills...

Rare France Limoges Porcelain & Bronze Bathroom Set Washbasin Mirror Pendant Etc
Located in Lisse, NL
Highly decorative porcelain bathroom set with stunning roses pattern, by one of Europe's finest. Over the years we have sold very few porcelain Limoges pieces and that is simply because these high value items don't find there way to the open market very often. So to have been given the opportunity to purchase a set as complete and remarkable as the one we are offering you here, more than made our day. Also, because we already know that someone will be thrilled to be able to own and use this rare and beautiful set in their (new) home or, for example, in their holiday home. This vintage Limoges set of high quality and detail consists of the following: - A practical size washbasin with gilt bronze mythological dolphin handles. - Large mirror in stylish bronze frame with a mounted (or built-in) 4-light sconce. - A porcelain shelf (for wall mounting) to go under the mirror. - A bronze and porcelain, 4 light pendant light. - A shell design porcelain and bronze soap holder (for wall mounting). - A toilet paper holder with some damage (we therefor listed this set as a five-piece set). The two stunning bronze dolphins used to be the handles with which you could turn on the cold and hot water, but at some point in time the actual water tap...

Beautiful 19th-Century Sacred Heart of Jesus Statue in Polychrome Clay and Wood
Located in Lisse, NL
A powerful and emotionally rich representation of the Sacred Heart of Jesus, hand-carved in wood, clay and richly polychromed, dating from the late 1800s. Likely originating from France or Belgium, this devotional statue combines craftsmanship, spiritual symbolism, and historical presence. Christ is portrayed with an open gesture and serene expression, pointing to His Sacred Heart, which radiates gold and is crowned with thorns and a small cross. The robe features Gothic-inspired motifs in crimson and gold, and the original brass halo remains intact — a rare and beautiful detail. This large sculpture of our loving teacher Jesus Christ is in good condition, showing only minor wear and light surface imperfections that give it authenticity and soul. The paint and gilding are beautifully preserved with a soft patina, typical of well-kept devotional objects of this age. It makes an impressive display as-is, but could become truly striking when elevated on a pedestal or large Gothic wall bracket, making it ideal for a chapel, entry hall, or interior with religious or historic accents. If you like this early 19th century work of religious ART as much as we do then you will love our price. Especially, since perfect packing and worldwide delivery from our store to your door in just 4 to 6 days are complimentary. Height x width x depth of this statue: 43.5 x 17 x 10.5 inches. Width x depth of the base: 10.2 x 97 inches. The alabaster pedestal shown in some photos is not included. We are driven by a passion for uniqueness, timeless, quality, stylish design, and the enduring craftsmanship of the past. Every purchase is carefully and thoughtfully packed — and we look forward to serving you (again). To explore all our 1000+ listings, simply click the button labeled 'View All From Seller'. Antique Group of 6 Skookum Dolls, 1913s
Located in Norton, MA
A Skookum doll was a Native American-themed doll, sold as a souvenir item in the early 20th century. They are all in different sizes. The last photo shows the dimensions (inch) of each doll, W (width) x H (height) x D (depth). The original labels (SKOOKUM (BULLY GOOD) INDIAN )are attached to the bottoms of the leather shoes. One method of determining the production date of the dolls is by studying the footwear. For example, the earliest dolls from around 1913 had moccasins made of leather. By 1918, the mocassins were simulated with suede applied to wood and painted designs. By 1924, they were molded of composition material, and by the 1950s, the dolls had plastic feet. Production of the dolls ended in the early 1960s. History: Mary Dwyer McAboy (1876-1961), who was from Missoula, Montana. In 1909, Mary McAboy began to market apple head...
