About the Item

This is a DCM Chair, originally designed by Charles and Ray Eames in 1946. This particular piece was produced by Herman Miller and retains its tag under the seat. This example dates back to the year 1954. The design features a bent-plywood seat and back with an ebonized finish, and tubular chromed-steel legs. The chair measures 17.5 inches deep, 19.5 inches wide, and 29.5 inches high. It has a seat height of 18 inches. This piece does show wear consistent with previous use, including some patina on the frames and areas where the ebony has worn away.
