Early edition collectable black Arne Jacobsen DOT 3170 stool, 1950s

About the Item

Great first production Dot stool by Arne Jacobsen for Fritz Hansen. Together with Fritz Hansen's grandson, Søren Hansen, Arne Jacobsen developed plywood furniture. This stool was their first collaboration. Although Arne Jacobsen is the designer, this stool would not have been possible without Søren's help. The first version of the stool can be recognized by the brass caps, from which the name Dot comes, with which the seat is attached to the base. The seat is made of black lacquered beech plywood. The stool has a diameter of 34 and a height of 45 cm. The stool is in good vintage condition with matching patina.
