1958 Danish Teak Hutch Bar Credenza by Hans Wegner for Ry Møbler

About the Item

Born on April 22nd in 1958, this free-standing wall-unit / hutch is truly an architectural masterpiece. The entire construction can be easily broken down and assembled without any hardware. The top and bottom cabinets lock and slide into the support panels like puzzle pieces. Designed by Hans J. Wegner for Ry Møbler, this Scandinavian marvel is not only the pinnacle of versatility, but a stunning work of natural art. Look close and you can see how the maker used an assortment of teak wood species to create contrasting tones and patterns throughout. The drawers, doors, cases and support panels each have their own personality. The dark, tawny rosewood pulls on the drawers are yet another demonstration of this discipline. This RY-20 model is a storage and function powerhouse. It’s essentially a dry-bar, china cabinet, room divider, and credenza all in one. The one-piece unit has two tiers. The upper portion sports two, large, birch-lined interior spaces with adjustable / removable shelves. These upper cabinet spaces are concealed by cathedral-grained sliding doors with recessed circular pulls. The bottom portion of the cabinet features six, fiery grained drawers with dark tawny wood pulls. The top right drawer still has it's original, green felt lining. Restoration: All surfaces have been professionally refinished (even the top of upper unit) by our in-house cabinet shop. Bottom cabinet has a few ghost scratches that could not be fully removed (see pics) Repaired corner chip on right-side sliding door. Only minor imperfections remain Measures: 71ʺ Long × 19.5ʺ Deep × 71ʺ High

Lighted Custom Made Modern Cherry Buffet Dry Bar With Wine Rack and Bar Cart
By Foster-McDavid, Arne Vodder, Brown Saltman, Jens Risom
Located in Chattanooga, TN
Please believe me when I say pictures don't this piece justice. The cherry wood shimmers and gleams with an almost indescribable Iridescence that looks like rivers of honey that form the ebbing and flowing grain. The tones and hues of the piece change depending on how the light hits it and where your eye catches it. You'll see amber, ochre, honey, and umber. We purchased this cabinet from the son of the original owners who had it custom made in the 1970's. Although it looks similar to the works to Jens Risom, Arne Vodder, and Brown-Saltman, this is a custom, made 1 of 1 credenza. There are many unique aspects to this piece that seem inspired by many designers of the period. A large cherry door on the left conceals open cabinet space with removable / adjustable shelves. The right has a faux-door panel that is made to resemble the one on the left. However, this faux-door is actually the front panel to a roll-out bar cart. This handsome server sports two drop-leaves that double its counter space. This mini buffet...
