Alvar Aalto Mahogany Desk for Artek with Drawers and Pull Out Work Surfaces

About the Item

The model #500 mahogany desk designed by Alvar Aalto, made in Sweden for Artek, Finland. Six drawers with two pull-out work surface boards. A nice example of Aalto's clean modernist designs from the 1930's. Please note that this desk is not made in the usual light blond birch wood. It has a rich, dark honey color.     Repaired: There is a large section of the handle of the right pull out surface that had been broken off and was reattached and the area touched up. Please see detail photos. Refinished. Wear consistent with age and use. Minor structural damages. Overall wear and use with some marks and scratches. Overall appearance is good. Scratches to left pull out surface; a section of the handle on the right pull out surface was reattached and the area touched up. Please see detail photos.
