Iconic + Rare Early Edition Bar Cart by Alvar + Aino Aalto for Artek, 1936

About the Item

An earlier edition of the Alvar and Aino Aalto Tea Trolled for Artek. Using new technology to bend birch wood, the dynamic design duo created a heritage piece that has stood the test of time and for which the couple is famous for. This early model is in Birch wood; composed of two birch lamella loops, two shelves, a solid birth handle and the larger scaled wheels are both eye-catching; with a rubber tread. Manufactured in Finland, 1950’s. The Aalto’s were inspired by British tea culture they encountered in their travels as well as Japanese woodwork and architecture.
