About the Item

This refined Eames table embodies the crisp modernist logic for which Charles and Ray Eames are celebrated. Every detail — from the stark black-and-white contrast to the molded plywood base beneath the laminate top — is the product of thoughtful design, executed with clarity and intention. Constructed in Hermann Miller’s tradition of precision craftsmanship, the table features a durable laminate surface (white top balanced by black accents) set upon a sculptural base. The base, molded with subtle curvature, gives the piece an elegant tension: the top seems to float just above the structure, while the form remains grounded and stable. The black-and-white juxtaposition yields a quietly dramatic presence, sophisticated without ever becoming ostentatious. In terms of proportion and scale, the table is built to integrate seamlessly in both residential and commercial settings. While modest in size, it carries architectural ambition: the interplay between horizontality (tabletop) and vertical support (base) is calibrated to maintain visual lightness and structural confidence. Dimensions: Width (side to side): 22.88 in (58.1 cm) Depth (front to back): 29.75 in (75.6 cm) Height: 17.75 in (45.1 cm) Condition is excellent for its vintage pedigree. The laminate top shows minimal surface wear — consistent with careful use over time — and the base structure remains strong, with no warping or instability. All joins and surfaces have been meticulously preserved, and any touch-ups have been executed to respect the original finish and lines. Collectors and design connoisseurs will appreciate this table not merely as a utility, but as an exemplar of mid-century modern refinement. It bridges functional minimalism with sculptural wit, making it a focal point in any interior. In a collector’s environment, it stands proudly among other modern icons — an understated yet resolute statement of design pedigree. This listing is for the side table alone. The chair and accessories pictured are NOT INCLUDED. Condition: Original vintage condition with exceptionally clean table top. We also have a 32 inch square Eames table. A white marble Eames coffee table is also available. Complete your office with Charles Pollock Executive chairs (sold separately) in blue velvet. Eames collectors will be happy to know that we have twenty naugahyde stackable Eames shell chairs available as well (sold separately).

Vintage Heywood Wakefield Wheat Finish X Base Square Coffee Table
By Heywood-Wakefield Co.
Located in Chattanooga, TN
There's a rich, deep, aged honey patina on this wheat finish birch / maple. We achieved a a near perfect muted grain and color match to the top surface that we delicately restored. This sleek, study, understated and classic modern coffee table embraces mid-century minimalism design. The "X" base with intersecting spanners adds an appealing architectural elegance that remains timeless to this day. Sculpted, and assembled with no visible hardware. This restored Heywood-Wakefield 392-G square coffee table is an elegant expression of mid-century minimalism, crafted in the signature wheat-maple finish that has made the brand so revered. It measures approximately 36 inches by 36 inches (91 × 91 cm) across the top, and stands about 15.75 inches (40 cm) high — a scale that delivers both generous surface area and low, relaxed visual impact. The design is beautifully composed: a square tabletop with softened edges floats above an intersecting “X”-base, with crossed stretchers that add structural elegance and visual interest without heaviness. The wheat finish has a muted grain: blond tones, subtle warmth, and a light yet rich surface that reflects light softly while grounding surrounding furnishings. The craftsmanship is clean: wood joints are refined, hardware is concealed, allowing the form and wood grain to speak. Restoration has been carried out with great attention to authenticity. The tabletop has been professionally refinished to match original specifications: color, finish sheen, and grain pattern restored. Minor imperfections remain — tiny surface marks and perhaps slight variances on the X-base spanners — but these serve as testament to its vintage provenance rather than detractions. The legs and base are solid and stable; the table presents as both handsome and durable. Because of its proportions and design, this piece works beautifully in a range of interiors. It can anchor a sprawling seating area in a living room, serve as the central gathering point in a lounge, or provide surface and sculptural presence in modern or Scandinavian-light-wood interiors. Its square silhouette allows symmetry in layout; its wheat finish harmonizes with wood tones, brass or matte metal accents, soft upholstery, and even minimalist or muted color palettes. We're certain you won't find a more sublime vintage rendition of this coffee table anywhere. Stamped by the maker with illegible date. Excellent restored vintage condition. Top has been professionally refinished by our in-house cabinet shop.Only very minor age appropriate imperfections remain on the legs and spanners. Heywood Wakefield Coffee Table...
