About the Item

Hans J. Wegner desk, model PP 312, designed for PP Møbler in 1981. Crafted from solid ash wood, this desk features an elegant and functional design that reflects superior craftsmanship. The large rectangular tabletop, measuring 190x94 cm, provides ample workspace. Beneath the tabletop, there is an apron with two spacious drawers that are practically designed with integrated handles, enhancing the desk's refined and sublime design. The desk has been carefully restored by a professional cabinetmaker, and the soap-treated ash wood looks as good as new. The soap-treated finish highlights the wood's natural grain, giving it a soft, matte appearance that makes the desk both beautiful and functional. Model PP 312 is nearly identical to the earlier model PP 305 from 1955 but is significantly larger and features two drawers instead of three. The desk is only available new by special order, with a starting price of 120,000 DKK and a one-year waiting period for delivery. Hans J. Wegner (1914-2007) was a Danish furniture designer and one of the key figures in Danish modernism. He created over 500 chairs and furniture pieces that combined functionality with elegant craftsmanship, and he is best known for his iconic "Y Chair" and "Papa Bear Chair." Wegner's designs are valued for their timeless aesthetics and high quality.
