A magnificent, fine and impressive antique Edwardian English sterling silver Monteith bowl; an addition to our range of collectable silverware. This magnificent antique Edwardian sterling silver bowl has a large Monteith form onto a spreading foot. The body of this antique Edwardian monteith bowl is ornamented with exceptional panels of flat engraved decoration, incorporating dynamic chinoiserie characters amongst foliate and towering structures; it can be determined that such a frieze of figures relates to a historical event or folklore. Each panel is segmented with concave fluted pales to a matte textured plateau. The decoration to the body incorporates a leaf bordered cartouche to one side, displaying a contemporary bright cut engraved coat of arms, all above the motto 'Vix Ea Nostra Voco' - I scarce call these deeds of our ancestors ours*. These heraldic markings are surmounted with the contemporary bright cut engraved crest of on a mount, a hind lodged in front of a hawthorn-tree, ducally gorged and chained*. An exceptional, fine and impressive antique Edwardian English sterling silver four-piece tea and coffee service, an addition to our silver teaware collection This exceptional, antique Edwardian four piece sterling silver tea and coffee service consists of a coffee pot, teapot, cream jug and sugar basket. Each piece of this fine Chester silver tea set has an oval rounded form, all in the Queen Anne style. The body of each piece is ornamented with panels of fluted decoration, incorporating a contemporary bright cut engraved crest of a wolf chained and collared to one side. The upper rim of each piece is ornamented with an applied moulded border. Both the coffee pot and teapot are fitted with hinged hallmarked domed covers surmounted by the original carved painted wood and sterling silver topped pineapple finials. The silver teapot and coffee pot retain the original carved painted wood handles, featuring a plain scrolling thumbpiece. The species of birds include: grouse, a snipe, a pheasant and a partridge. Each cast silver bird is embellished with details reproducing the plumage and anatomical features. The birds are further embellished with impressive gem set eyes. These exceptional examples of antique silver are fitted with plain angular supports to the posterior surfaces. This exceptional antique Austro-Hungarian silver spice box has been modelled in the form of a tower. The cuboid shaped spice box is ornamented with exceptional silver filigree work within a plain arched frame. This impressive vessel is fitted with a hinged door embellished with contemporary engraved initials. The upper portion of this impressive antique silver spice tower is embellished with four articulating flag designs encompassing a tapering paneled chute. The tower's chute is ornamented with further filigree and rope twist decoration and terminating with a scalloped knop to an undulating guidon shaped flag. The spice compartment surmounts a plain wirework style pedestal, accented with a further scalloped knop. The square shaped foot is ornamented with filgree decoration and supported by four plain semi-spherical feet. Antique Edwardian Sterling Silver Three-Piece Tea Service

A fine and impressive antique Edwardian English sterling silver three piece tea service / set; an addition to our silver teaware collection. This fine antique Edwardian sterling silver tea service consists of a teapot, sugar bowl and cream jug Each component has an oval rounded form to a plain oval collet foot. The lower portions of the teapot, cream jug and sugar bowl are embellished with embossed fluted ornamentation. The flared upper rim of the cream jug and sugar bowl, and shoulders of the teapot are ornamented with an impressive applied gadroon decorated border. The large teapot is fitted with a domed hinged hallmarked cover, which features further embossed convex fluted decoration. The cover is surmounted by the original carved oval fluted painted wood and sterling silver finial. The teapot retains the original plain angular carved painted wood handle with a carved scroll style thumbpiece. The surface of the holder has a frosted finish and is embellished with impressive engraved floral designs to the cylindrical portion. The upper portion of the body is further ornamented with two applied bands of bead ornamentation.
