We recently 'salvaged' this timeless and highly stylish, midcentury modern design set from the home of the first owner of this set (in Germany). It is amazing what the right pieces in the right place can do for your interior and most certainly for your entrance as well. This set looked simply amazing in the hallway they were in and fortunately for us the new owners of that house had very different ideas with the interior. We ofcourse were very eager to purchase this perfectly complementing set, because it does not take an Einstein-interior-designer to envision these vintage yet timeless pieces in a midcentury or even in a contemporary interior. Both design and material wise, the five light Hustadt flush mount AND the very cool chrome coat rack could not be more stylish and timeless. For us to have been able to purchase them in this truly superb condition was like the icing on the cake. Our clients expect only the best from us and that is exactly what this set is. You just don't find pieces of this age in this condition and that too is why it will always sell and make a new owner very happy. The combination of the beautiful and strong lines in the design and the marvelous material of which this set is made will never fail to impress you or anyone visiting. The very rare flush mount is clearly marked with the Hustadt Leuchten label, but we don't know who the designers of these pieces were. That happens a lot though, because we mostly buy with our hearts. Thanks to the perfect shape of the multiple hooks this large, rare and great looking 1970s wall coat rack also is very practical to use. It is large but thanks to its undeep design it will not take up much space at all. Thanks to the four metal brackets on the back it is very easy and safe to mount on your wall as well and we will even provide the four screws and plugs for that. So if you are looking to make yourself or one of your clients happy with this perfect midcentury modern hallway...

The Ligne sculptures were made during a summer artist residency at Pilchuck school of glass. As with many of Sabine Marcelis's explorations with light, these objects were born from a curiosity to explore how a material volume can interact with a single line of light and in this case also how two very different ways of working with glass can elevate eachother.
Together with talented neon benders, Sabine Marcelis hand-bent each of the neon lights to wrap around the various glass volumes, accentuating their mass and in turn, the glass volumes filtering the light.
Dutch-Kiwi designer Sabine Marcelis’s work is at the forefront of contemporary material innovation in product and installation design. She works with glass manufacturers and more, forging partnerships across her industry to bring her ambitiously experimental projects to fruition.
Marcelis’s focus is on allowing happenstance sensory experiences to emerge by juxtaposing combinations of unlikely materials and colors. She was educated at the Design Academy Eindhoven and since founding her eponymous studio in 2011 in Rotterdam in the Netherlands, she has built a remarkable roster of clients in fashion, architecture and art. She has created signature pieces for the likes of Rem Koolhaas’s architecture firm OMA, high-fashion labels Fendi and Isabel Marant and luxury beauty brand Aēsop. She has also exhibited at the Salone del Mobile in Milan and won Wallpaper* magazine’s Designer of the Year award for 2020.
Marcelis was invited to create a sculptural intervention for the interiors of Ludwig Mies van der Rohe and Lily Reich’s iconic Barcelona Pavilion, which saw the debut of the pair’s timeless Barcelona chair in 1929. For her “No Fear of Glass” exhibition, the designer subverted the original request made to van der Rohe to “not use too much glass” by designing chaise longues, pillar lights and a fountain that feature glass as the main material. The rest of her work is informed by a similarly sophisticated playfulness, as evident in the charming forms she creates — she has designed doughnut-shaped rugs, the multifunctional resin Candy Cube side tables...
