Ben-Amun Free Form Modernist AB Orange/Pink Glass Clip Earrings
Located in Clifton Forge, VA
These are such stylish modernist clip on earrings made by Ben-Amun and clearly marked on the back. The vibrant, iridescent pinkish orange glass with an aurora borealis AB (rainbow) finish, has a free form shape and the molded glass surface is nonuniform (it sort of looks like an iceberg). These earrings would add some fun to a classic outfit or would accentuate a funky vibe! They measure about 3/4 inch high and 1/2 inch wide and there is some slight finish loss on the back. Thanks for visiting The Moody Carpenter...

Bronze Gothic Revival Candle Chandelier w. Virgin Mary & Marian Cross Sculptures
Located in Lisse, NL
Handcrafted and truly beautiful Gothic chandelier. In antiques it often is the case that the older a piece is, the better the quality and the details. This pre 1900s, unique, meaningful and highly decorative Gothic chandelier is no exception to that. You will rarely come across a Gothic work of religious art that is more elaborate and detailed than this marvelous bronze chandelier from the mid to late 1800s. To us, this very rare Gothic chandelier is like an ode to the Virgin Mary, because with three large bronze winged sculptures...

Ben-Amun Modernist Mid Century Geometric Blue Red Black Glass Bangle Bracelet
Located in Clifton Forge, VA
What a wonderful modernist, geometric bangle bracelet this is, because it has a dull gray finish on the outside and a shinier finish on the low spots of the inside, I think it's possible that the original finish has almost completely worn off, but I love the industrial gray with the midcentury look of this piece and the 3/4 inch diameter red, blue and black glass cabochons are all vibrant in color and contrast nicely with the dull finish. It is a large piece of jewelry having a 2.5 inch inside diameter, 3.25 inch outside diameter and the geometric shapes project about one inch above and below the center band making the bracelet have a two inch total width. It is stamped in many places with the Ben-Amun mark. Thanks very much for visiting The Moody Carpenter...

HISTORY Mrs. James Ward Thorne of Chicago loved dollhouses and miniatures as a child. After traveling in Europe where she collected miniature furniture and accessories, Mrs. Thorne commissioned over two dozen miniature rooms created by cabinetmakers from her own drawings. The scale is: one inch to one foot. The rooms were exhibited in the 1933-1934 Chicago's Century of Progress Exposition, the 1939 San Francisco's Golden Gate International Exposition, and in the 1940 New York World's Fair. Later, Mrs. Thorne had 29 more rooms created, copying Europe's castles, museums and historic homes. She commissioned architects to create historically accurate settings and had the textiles and carpets made by the Needlework Guild of Chicago. The rooms showing the French and English architectural and decorating styles from the 1500's to the 1920's, were exhibited in 1937 at the Art Institute of Chicago. In 1942 Mrs. Thorne gave 37 more Miniature Rooms to the Art Institute of Chicago. Those rooms offered views of American history between 1875 and 1940.
