About the Item

The Tulip chair, designed by Eero Saarinen in 1956 for Knoll International, is a key piece of mid-century modern design. Saarinen aimed to create a chair that removed the clutter of traditional four legs, using instead a single pedestal base. This design was both functional and visually clean, offering a sleek alternative to the heavy furniture of the time. Saarinen has always sought to eliminate superfluous elements in his designs, and the collaboration with Knoll International enabled him to explore new forms that remained simple, yet highly aesthetic. Knoll gave him the freedom to push back the boundaries of design, leading to the creation of iconic pieces such as the Tulip chair and the Tulip table. This set of 5 Tulip chairs manufactured by Knoll International is in good condition.
