Gothic Armoire
Located in New York, NY
FAPG 19959D/2 Gothic Revival armoire New York, about 1835-1840 Mahogany, with brass hardware Measure: 104 in. high, 73 in. wide, 30 in. deep Exhibited: Hirschl & Adler Galleries, New York, 2011–12, The World of Duncan Phyfe: The Arts of New York, 1800–1847, p. 89 no. 45 illus. 89 Ex coll.: Private collection (probably R. H. Selstadt, Big Stone Gap, Virginia) Although no specific pieces of Gothic furniture documented as by Duncan Phyfe have come to light, there is considerable evidence that he, like various of his contemporaries in New York, embraced the Gothic style. For example, the catalogue of the Halliday & Jenkins auction sale of the contents of Phyfe’s furniture ware rooms, which was held on site at 192 and 194 Fulton Street, New York, on April 16 and 17, 1847, included a “mahogany centre table Gothic gilt pillar and Egyptian marble top” (Halliday & Jenkins, p. 3 no. 63); “12 mahogany Gothic chairs...

Shaker Inspired Chest of Drawers, Steel Furniture Natural Rust Patina
By Jim Rose
Located in Chicago, IL
This chest of drawers was inspired by the forms and sensibilities of Shaker furniture. Here, artist Jim Rose puts his spin on the shaker design by using naturally rusted steel. The warmth of the patina evokes a cherished family heirloom. This piece will add interest and functionality to any room. Jim Rose Chest of Drawers repurposed steel with natural rust patina 78h x 35w x 18d in 198.12h x 88.90w x 45.72d cm JR0270 Jim Rose b. 1966, d. 2023 Bio: Born in Indiana, Jim Rose lived in Europe until he returned to the United States to attend college. After one year at Bard College, Jim transferred to the School of the Art Institute in Chicago (SAIC) where he graduated in 1988 with a BFA. His skillful interpretation of the Shaker design is a result of intense research and field study of Shaker furniture, architecture, culture and history. After over two decades of dedicated work, he has mastered the minimalism of the Shaker technique and created his own unique visual vernacular. The quilts of Gee's Bend have become a monumental influence taking this artist's work to new levels of unique interpretation and artistry. His selection of aged steel results in a patina directly related to that of aged wood while his colored strips beautifully mimic worn cloth. Each piece of furniture is masterfully made and intended for daily use. Jim Rose’s steel furniture is featured every year at SOFA Chicago for the past 25 years. Rotating Piro Spice Cabinet for Kitchen Islands
By James Loewen
Located in Goshen, IN
Piro Spice is a sculptural object that doubles as a countertop spice cabinet.  The design, backed by a utility patent, allows the cook to access his or her spices easily, flipping open the cabinet and spinning, as needed.  The bulk of the material is a pre-finished high-grade Baltic birch multiply that is intended to withstand rough handling (although you can also be gentle with it!). Before you purchase, make sure you have counter space available for it with no cabinets above. A kitchen island or peninsula is probably the best location. Piro Spice will hold about 25 of your favorite spices.   15"W x 8"D x 25"H. 14-day full refund policy - buyer pays for return shipping. The story behind Piro: The original idea for Piro came from James' need to store, and make accessible, the CDs in his music collection - he already had solutions for the vinyl records and the cassette tapes.  After a great deal of tinkering, he came up with a solution, and patented it - see U.S. patent 7,789,473.  Alas, in the meanwhile Steve Jobs had come along and marketed the iPad, which put a massive dent in the CD storage...
