Jake Fischer Landscape Paintings

This body of work is an investigation of the relationship between the tangible and intangible moments in the context of everyday life experience; where the tangible refers to moments taking place in the physical environment and the intangible refers to the subjectivity associated with thought. In this body of work, I am using light and dark as a representation for the two-sided nature of experience, where light is tangible and the dark intangible. Pictorially and spatially, the light and dark have a cosignificant relationship, just as the tangible and intangible are reliant on each other to inform experience.
My process involves recording places that I am familiar with or that I interact with in my daily routines, such as a commute from one point to another or simply walking through my neighborhood. Through my process, I have found that it is during these times that the relationship between the tangible and intangible is most evident. Singular moments in the physical space seem to punctuate and interrupt engagement in thought. In these paintings, it is not my intention to favor one aspect over the other, but instead to place equal significance on both.to

View from the Train: Cityscape Oil Painting, View of Brooklyn
By Patty Neal
Located in Hudson, NY
View from the Train, 2019
24" X 40" x 1", oil on canvas
This contemporary oil painting depicting a metropolitan view is the work of realist painter Patty Neal. The painting offers an intimate view of the city, as seen from a window, as it peeks from behind two metal structures. The dark browns and bright golds beautifully compliment the dusty blue, gray sky. Neal works highlight everyday city scenes, utilitarian infrastructure, and industrial or electrical apparatus.
Artist statement:
A life is an accumulation of experiences: visual, emotional and mental. By compartmentalizing these snippets of life we create boundaries. The focus of my work for many years has been the exploration of these various life aspects and how they are bound together or bound from each other. My process is often literally composed of boundaries. I make a painting by putting together multiple panels, or I segment a single panel into separate visual spaces. The works are made up of pieces or elements of city and landscape. While exploring the concepts of boundaries I play with visual “reality.” Sometimes I combine images that are upside down with those that are not and juxtapose images from different contexts. Literal boundaries, such as walls fences, expanses of water and highway median strips are also used. My intent is to invite viewers to look beyond these boundaries to see the possibilities of a connected whole.

Joie de Vivre by Ginny Williams Europeany Goldfinch Oil Painting
By Ginny Williams
Located in Atlanta, GA
A celebration of charm and cultural richness, Joie de Vivre by Ginny Williams brings together objects of beauty and a striking European Goldfinch, perched with poise and personality. Painted in oil on a 16 x 16-inch panel, this still life exudes warmth, elegance, and a touch of whimsy. The bird’s vivid red face, golden wing bars, and black markings are hallmarks of the beloved goldfinch—often associated with vitality, joy, and spiritual endurance in European art history.
With its palette of soft neutrals, classic chinoiserie blue-and-white ceramics, and a bold red, white, and blue fan motif, Joie de Vivre feels both traditional and refreshingly modern. The title, meaning “joy of living,” perfectly encapsulates the mood: uplifting, timeless, and thoughtfully composed.
Ideal for collectors of symbolic still life, bird lovers, or designers seeking a small yet story-rich piece, this original painting adds layers of narrative and charm to any space. Offered by Huff Harrington, Joie de Vivre is a radiant moment of visual poetry.
We were immediately drawn to the thoughtfully painted work, the clever titles and the rich, deep hues. And when we got to know the artist, we were equally charmed by her delightful wit, her sensibilities as an artist, her depth of knowledge and her modesty. This one’s got it all and we are honored to represent her.
GC Williams has a BA in art history and began her artistic career as a self-taught artist. She subsequently studied at several classical ateliers including 4 years at the Academy of Realist Art, Boston. Influenced heavily by her studies of and love for the art of the northern European Renaissance, she creates still life paintings that employ chiaroscuro and symbolism to point beyond themselves to more enduring truths. Just as the still life masters of long ago used everyday objects to convey timeless messages pertinent to the culture of the day, Williams’ works often have underlying symbolism in the placement and combination of objects she chooses to paint. With tight renderings and playfulness she attempts to draw the viewer beyond an initial appreciation of a pretty picture into a deeper engagement and understanding of the language of the still life.
