Elegant interior lamp designed as an essential element that creates an evocative light of great comfort. A matte ball of simple and pure form, cut in two perfect halves that diffuse reflected and discreet light. The project line is the essentiality that shapes both the aesthetics and the lighting effect. The light is spread from inside the ball, reflected on the inner shell of the dome and spread on the surface of the table on which it is placed. Designed for the living, its light gives a great atmosphere to the home. The unit features a dimmer enabling custom quality and intensity light.
Aldo Parisotto and Massimo Formenton graduated in architecture from the IUAV of Venice. In 1990 they founded their own design firm P+F Parisotto+Formenton Architetti. In the earliest days of electric lighting, designers worked closely together with artists & artisans and together they created some of the most beautiful light fixtures made in the history of mankind. For creating these 'works of lighting art' they used some of the most expensive materials and some of the most expensive methods. One of the reasons why such very expensive light fixtures could be made, was, because the potential buyers were mostly people who lived in the largest and most expensive of homes. This gilt bronze and cut glass pendant would have been made for an entry hall with a high ceiling and it would be mounted in the centre of a ceiling rose. The unique combination of gilt bronze ornaments and a stunning cut glass shade, makes this antique pendant an absolute joy to own and look at. This handsome and completely original antique pendant, has rams heads and guirlandes all around the shade, a crown-like gallery on top and leafs and a bronze pineapple underneath. All these antique style elements symbolize something, but with regards to this hallway pendant we particularly like the symbolic meaning of the pineapple, because to many Europeans in the new world they symbolized friendship and hospitality. So much so that families would hang pineapples outside their homes to perfume the entryway and make it welcoming to guests. "Monarch" pendant light with shown in our hand-finished oil-rubbed bronze and our satin "Perfect White" creamy enamel fabricated in NYC by Blueprint Lighting, 2018. The wide brass band and dramatically scaled flared cone makes the Monarch a strong design statement. This design is strongly influenced by both French and Italian Mid-Century Modernism. We are also able to make wall sconces, articulated wall-mount reading lamps, small chandeliers as well as larger and multi-tier chandeliers with the "Monarch" cone!
