Juan Jose Abella Rubio was born in Estercuel, a hamlet anchored in the Teruel mining basin in March 1944. In his painting the ocher and reddish colors of his first environment are well present.
In 1956 we find him in Pont d'Inca (Mallorca), studying baccalaureate and magisterium, at the same time that he graduates in artistic drawing and publicity with outstanding. In the correction of the first works, the teachers add this annotation: "You have in your hands a treasure that you can not neglect, you have achieved in only a few lessons what Fine Arts students have achieved for years. Plaster quality ".
In 1970 he moved to Barcelona. He studied at the Universidad Central, graduating with outstanding study of the provisional architecture: "The Tomb of Charles V in Valladolid", which would later be published by the Higher Council of Scientific Research. He completed his training with Fine Arts at the Superior School of Fine Arts in Barcelona.

A fashionable group of merrymakers boards a rowboat at sundown in this oil on panel by renowned French painter Gaston La Touche. Softly lit and lushly detailed, the work represents the artist’s talent for capturing the gaiety of the Belle Époque. Fresh and airy, the work is a beautiful example of the artist’s skill at capturing the subtle qualities of light and color. Set against the plein air backdrop of a wooded pond awash in the soft glow of the golden hour, the scene reflects the influence of the Impressionists. Gaston La Touche was born in St. Cloud, outside of Paris, in 1854, and he showed a keen interest in art from a young age. At ten years old, he began taking private art instruction, which lasted until 1870, when his family was forced to flee to Normandy amid the Franco-Prussian War. This was the only formal art training La Touche would ever receive. Despite his lack of Academy training, he made his debut at the Paris Salon of 1875 with a sculptural medallion and etchings, and he exhibited his first painting at the Salon of 1881. Although he began his career painting dark-toned realist compositions, by 1890, his style had shifted to what would become his signature — a lighter, brighter, idealistic society world.
The artist was associated with practically all of the most influential artists and thinkers of late 19th century France, including Édouard Manet, Edgar Degas, Émile Zola, who frequently met at the legendary Cafe de la Nouvelle Athenes to share their thoughts on modern society. Two sisters enjoy a quiet moment in a rich green landscape in this intimate oil on canvas from Federico Zandomeneghi. An Italian painter by birth who became a fixture in the Parisian Impressionist scene, Zandomeneghi is best remembered for his sentimental and affectionate scenes of women in both domestic and public spheres.
Zandomeneghi’s creative and technical prowess in composition is highlighted in this painting. The artist deftly frames the young pair in the lower register of the canvas, imbuing the work with a remarkably observational feel. The girls pensively gaze off to the right, lost in thought; Zandomeneghi allows the viewer to witness a natural moment of discussion and contemplation shared among the sisters. The soft palette employed by the artist gives the whole scene an atmospheric glow, with dappled rays of sunshine breaking through the lush foliage. Though the girls remain in the shaded areas of the landscape, Zandomeneghi’s skillful application of paint allows a brightness to remain nevertheless.
Federico Zandomeneghi was born in Venice to a long line of neoclassical sculptors. As if created to be an artist, Zandomeneghi began his artistic education early, enrolling in the Accademia di Belle Arti in Venice at just 15 years old before transferring to the Academy of Fine Arts in Milan. By 1862, the artist had arrived in Florence, where he became fast acquaintances with several Italian artists dedicated to executing landscape paintings en plein air. Zandomeneghi embraced the spontaneity, seeking to bring unparalleled luminosity to his works.

This Italian landscape is an oil on canvas, framed behind glass in its original gallery frame, by Susan Isabel Dacre. A superb painting, painted circa 1888. Dacre was an early member of the Feminist movement and a member of the Manchester arts community. She travelled with Lord Leighton and exhibited widely. This work shows influences of early British impressionism. The painting depicts an Italian landscape with a road sweeping around a hill with dwellings and trees. The brushwork and palette are superb. An excellent example of a 19th century women artists work.

Susan Isabel Dacre (1844 – 1933) was an English female artist of the Victorian era. She was born in Leamington, Warwickshire, and was educated in Salford. For the decade of 1858–68 she lived in Paris. After a winter in Italy (1869), she returned to Paris, and was present during the Franco-Prussian War and the Paris Commune. She returned to England in 1871 and began studying art at the Manchester School of Art, where she won the Queen's Prize in 1875. She began a lifelong friendship with fellow artist Annie Swynnerton; the two women pursued their art studies in Rome and Paris between 1874 and 1880. Around 1872, Lord Leighton dictated notes and observations on his methods of painting and composing his pictures to Susan Dacre during a stay on the island of Capri. Giovanni Martino, National Academy of Design* member, was born on May 1, 1908 in Philadelphia PA where all seven brothers and one sister, Filomina, Frank, Antonio, Albert, Ernest, Giovanni, Edmond, and William became painters. They were under the tutelage of their eldest brother, Frank, who in the late 1920s, founded the first commercial art studio, Martino Studios, at 27 South 18th Street.
Besides studying with his two eldest brothers, Giovanni also studied with Albert Jean Adolph at La France Institute, The Pennsylvania Academy of the Fine Arts, The Graphic Sketch Club, and Spring Garden Institute in Philadelphia. In his mid teens he accompanied his two eldest brothers to New Hope searching for subjects to paint. In the 1930s, he also started to paint in Manayunk, a hilly mill town along the Schuylkill River. At this time he signed his paintings M. Giovanni.
These colorful impressionistic works proceeded more thinly painted dramatically poetic street scenes of the mill town. These images developed into impasto laden oils in the 1960's with some of the paintings worked with a palette knife.
