Signed, verso, 'Takeshi Nakayoshi' (Japanese-American, born 1952), titled, 'Night Dance' and dated 1999. Born in Osaka, Takeshi Nakayoshi first studied at the University of Oregon before attending the San Francisco Art Institute where he received his BFA (1977) and MFA (1982). Influenced by the work of Matisse and Diebenkorn, Nakayoshi combines this background with his interest in abstract expressionism and his ongoing exploration of the connections between art and music.
