It is numbered “1/1-2”. I believe this indicates the artist did 2 impressions of the monotype, and that they are not identical. There are three levels of paper. The printed part with a plate that measures 8 x 8 inches (9x9 inches the sheet) is on thin Japon paper. It is mounted to another thin pastel colored sheet measuring 12 x 12 inches. This, in turn, is mounted to heavy paper similar to Arches measuring 22.25 x 18 inches It is in very good condition with some faint rippling on the left and right edges, and has never been framed. About the artist: Janet Jones was born in Montreal, Quebec in 1952. She received her BFA in painting and photography from Concordia University - studying painting with Guido Molinari and Yves Gaucher, and photography with the experimental photographer Suzanne Swibold. Janet Jones is currently a Toronto based painter whose work has been exhibited across Canada, in Los Angeles, New York, England, Germany, France and China.
