Semi Circular Corner Sofa in Pink and Green Velvet
By Midcentury Italian school
Located in Milano, IT
Important semicircular corner sofa in beautiful pink and green velvet of the '50s. The particular sofa has a very high back, covered with velvet capitonnè, for the seat instead three almost triangular cushions, also very particular, that put close together make up a semicircle, which gives the shape to the sofa. The bangs in green velvet to resume the color of the fabric give a touch of style to a refined seat that in itself is really charming and delicious. The sofa and its fabric are in original condition, kept very well. The magnificent sofa...

Vintage Le Bambole Sofa design Mario Bellini for B&B Italia 1970s White Boucle
By B&B Italia, Mario Bellini
Located in Jersey City, NJ
Very Rare Mario Bellini Authentic Vintage 'Le Bambole' Sofa made of 4 modular elements, two armless elements, and two corner end elements. Rare composition due to the presence of two corner elements (which are very difficult to find on the market) which allow for different layouts. Pictures show different settings for the same sofa. Made in the late 1970s, restored inside and out, and newly upholstered. You can use these four pieces in several layouts, L shape corners, three large seaters and one separate chair, a settee, and two separate chairs, or a four-seater long sofa. Authentic from the period and fully restored by our skilled Italian upholsterer, with new luxury Italian boucle fabric upholstery in white. Original bottom jute with B&B brand name (under the sofa) and original B&B label. Dimensions: Corner layout as shown in the pictures: 101" x 66" Each armless chair: 31" w x 35" d Each corner/end chair: 34" w x 35" d Height is 28/30" at top Seat height 18" All sizes are approximate. Can be arranged in several configurations. Material: Italian boucle' in white, sourced in Italy, a blend of viscose, wool, linen, cotton, and synthetic. Condition: excellent, fully restored inside and out. We kept the original jute at the bottom which bears the manufacturer B&B Italia stamp on the jute. The jute is the original one and presents some wear due to the fact that it is in direct contact with the floor. The jute is not visible as it is under the sofa. The jute has been completely relined in the interior. Le Bambole is an iconic design from the 1970s and 1980s, originally designed in 1972 for C&B Italia. It is another timeless design conceived by Architect Mario Bellini after the Camaleonda, Amanta, and Scacchi collections. Its design was revolutionary: construction was made by multi-density polyurethane foam shaping into a whole cushion for the seat and back, not supported by conventional frames and belts but by four metal vertical inserts at the front and back connected by a light metal base. The polyurethane molded structure played a key role in defining the comfort of this sofa which initially was conceived for softness and comfort on every angle, with the consequential disappearance of bulky bearing structures and stiff corners. The many different elements of the collection spanned from armchairs to sectional elements to chaises to give users multiple possibilities to create unique personalized layouts. It seems almost natural that Le Bambole won the Compasso D’Oro award in 1979. From there it was an escalation of successes. The sofa is now part of the Museum of Modern Art of New York's permanent collection. Even its marketing campaign made people talk when the company hired photographer Oliviero Toscani to shoot the ad campaign. The testimonial was model and Andy Warhol muse Donna Jordan...
