Laredo Armchair, 3-Legged Contemporary Ergonomic Design w/Laquer Finish
By Peter Glassford
Located in San Antonio, TX
Influences from Mexico, Japan and Stickley are rendered in solid wood using traditional tongue and groove joinery. This sculptural 3-legged contemporary armchair is comfortable because the high arms ergonomically support the body above a 14-high seat. First made by the designer in Laredo, Texas studio in 1994, they are now made to order in Guadalajara, Mexico as signed editions. These chairs are made from natural Parota wood and finished with several coats of matte lacquer and protected with final waxing. The finish will withstand covered outdoor conditions, avoiding direct sunlight and water. Parota trees or Huanaxactle, grow from central Mexico down through tropical Central America and are sustainably harvested by permit and the lumber is then kiln dried to 10%. Bio Peter Glassford...
