Largely scaled bench commissioned for the Chicago Oriental Theater. Elaborately carved wood with bright original paint surface and leather upholstery.

The bench once sat in the theater's grand lobby, which was painted in the same colorway. See Image 9 of theater today (was restored in 1998).

The Chicago Oriental Theater was primarily a vaudeville house in the early years. Performers included Judy Garland & the Gumm Sisters, The Three Stooges, Al Jolson, Stepin Fetchit, Sophie Tucker, Eddie Cantor, George Burns & Gracie Allen, Cab Calloway, Stepin Fetchit, Bing Crosby, Ella Fitzgerald, and Billie Holiday.
