Stylish Antique Eastern Style Wooden Wall Hanging Cabinet with Intricate Details
Located in Lisse, NL
Very rare and excellent condition, This all-handcrafted cabinet with a stunning decor of foliate carving and inlaid, Eastern style motifs is completely original and can be used for all kinds of purposes. It must have taken a highly skilled artisan several weeks to design and create this architecture inspired piece of wall furniture. This unique, single door cabinet with its beautiful patina and its marvelous look and feel is as stable/strong as the day it was made and the pair of metal hooks on the back makes it very safe and easy to mount on your wall. If you are decorating a home or business with an Eastern interior then this late 1800s cabinet...

Japanese Edo Period Ko-jo Mask of an Old Man, ca. 1820
Located in New York, NY
Japanese Edo Period Ko-jo Mask of an Old Man, ca. 1820 Edo Period (1603-1868) DIMENSIONS: Length: 15” (with beard) Length: 8” (without beard) Height: 4” Width: 5.5” ABOUT A Japanese Edo Period (1603-1868) Ko-jo Mask of an Old Man refers to a traditional theatrical or ceremonial mask crafted during Japan’s Edo period (1603–1868). Here's a breakdown of what this object typically represents and why it's significant: The term "Ko-jo" (or Kojo) roughly translates to "old man" or "aged person" in Japanese. A Ko-jo mask often portrays the face of an elderly man, typically with exaggerated age features: deep wrinkles, sagging skin, a long nose, bushy eyebrows, and sometimes a beard. These masks are usually used in Noh, Kyogen, or folk performances, and occasionally in Shinto rituals. In Noh theater, masks are used to express character types, moods, and spiritual roles. The Ko-jo mask might represent a wise elder, a spirit of age and wisdom, or even a deity. In Kyogen, which is the comedic counterpart to Noh, old-man masks are used more playfully, often satirizing elderly characters in lighthearted scenes. The Ko-jo mask may also symbolize ancestral reverence or longevity, tying it to folk beliefs and ritual performances. Edo period masks...

Una 'Articolo Indeterminativo' Wood and Glass Bar Cabinet
Located in Roma, IT
The bar cabinet wall piece is the second piece of the collection Una (Articolo Indeterminativo) by Stefano Marolla. The name of the collection comes from the Italian grammar where the indeterminative article precedes a non-identified noun. The objects play on the ambiguity of the matter than can deceive the eye: a sturdy element like wood, hand-curved and levigated, looks like a light tapestry. The curves and the soft drapery of the wood are inspired by a long and attentive study on the usage of drapery in art’s history, going back from the ancient Greece to Bernini’s sculptures...
