Artist statement
“As a human being, there is always a moment or many moments for he or she to rethink past and self. During this process, people will turn over, rearrange or rebuild their thoughts. Therefore, a new hope and idea is created. Life cannot move backwards but forwards. In my artworks, many different elements are matched or competed to each other. Interaction between elements are not made purposely but happened naturally instead. Each of my art represents my thoughts and visions in my current moment.” – LEI Lei
“人生总有一个阶段或者是许多阶段，你觉得需要反思过去，反思自己，把之前塑造起来的各种概念改进，甚至推翻，重组，重建。在这个过程里面又形成了新的期望和想法。所以从更广的方面来说，没有退步，而是一直在成长。而我作品中的各种不同的元素，无论是融合或互搏，都不是我刻意为之，而是在自然地相互影响着，一如之前所述的这个阶段里我的内心的交 错。”— 雷磊
